Deeparaya issue - Blogger Mahaguru58 is a dumb ass idiot, plain and simple

.
(The idiot’s blog entry – I waited until end of Raya to see whether it is still up and also to cool down before commenting on it)

I have never directly blogged about the shortcomings of fellow bloggers in my blog since I started blogging. Moreover if it is concerning religion or other’s faith & belief. However, going through the issue of Deeparaya at Menj’s blog, I noted that the whole issue was started by an idiot called Mahaguru58 at his blog. MenJ “glorified” Mahaguru58’s entry all right but in my opinion, was gentleman enough to allow the readers to comment on his blog

Mahaguru58 may have raise an important issue for fellow Muslim which is perfectly fine by me but when he started commenting on Hinduism against Islam in his blog dated 26th October 2005, it was way over the limit and beyond the thin line of freedom of speech. I tried to re-read the blog to be sure that I did not misunderstood the blog entry but irrespective of Mahaguru58’s motives and the choice of words used, I can’t find a reason to just let it pass as a mere overlook by Mahaguru58. This is what the idiot said:-

1. It is one thing for the Hindus to celebrate their religious festival on their own but to associate it with Eidul Fitri, Islam's celebration of the completion of the holy month of Ramadan is simply sacriligeous!!!
.
2. My argument is that you don't go around mixing Islam @ Belief in Allah Almighty with another faith that indulges in polytheism or idol worshipping!
.
3. Water and oil don't mix...so does Islam. It is preposterous to equate Allah with manmade idols, statuettes and any mankind inspired ideas of his or her own fantasies!
.
4. How the hell can you associate idol worship with ad-deenul haqq?
.
5. The Malays of Malaysia surely are so bloody accommodating that such an afront like this on the sacred celebration of Eid Al Fitr is allowed to go on unchallenged!
.
6. It is the act of mixing my faith with those we deem as haram that I feel strongly about!

Of course, perhaps due to fear criticism, the blogger made couple of lame apologetic statements as follows:-

1. You see, I have no problems with races (my note: ya right!). I give due respect to all races for as a Muslim, I believe that all races of mankind are descendants of the Holy Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) and Our Mother, the Blessed Hawa (Allah's blessings be upon her)
2. I reiterate that I am not biased against any race or ethnic group! They are all the same to me. It is the act of mixing my faith with those we deem as haram that I feel strongly about!

As a Hindu, I am strongly offended by the choice of insulting words used and I call this Mahaguru58 an idiot because he does not understand Hinduism for a start and secondly he mixed up the issues & came up with a rather extreme and fanatic statement on how we in Malaysia should tolerate each other’s beliefs and practices.

How did the idiot come to a conclusion that the deities that Hindus have worshipped for thousands of years are “man made idols, statuettes and any mankind inspired ideas of his or her own fantasies”? I say walk the walk before commenting, Mahaguru58. We had never questioned things about Islam and here we have an idiot commenting on others’ religion and beliefs.

Given the benefit of the doubt that Mahaguru58 did find something that no other 1 billion Hindus in the whole world did not find, I will be interested if Mahaguru58 could please enlighten us, the Hindus on what you have found after reading all the Hindu scriptures, literatures & history and came to the said conclusion. If you are not sure, keep your mouth shut!

Hinduism is not a religion but rather a way of life. Many believe that multiplicity of deities makes Hinduism polytheistic. Such a belief is nothing short of mistaking the wood for the tree.

What the multiplicity of deities does indicate is Hinduism's spiritual hospitality as evidenced by two characteristically Hindu doctrines: The Doctrine of Spiritual Competence (Adhikaara) and The Doctrine of The Chosen Deity (Ishhta Devata). The doctrine of spiritual competence requires that the spiritual practices prescribed to a person should correspond to his or her spiritual competence.

The doctrine of the chosen deity gives a person the freedom to choose (or invent) a form of Brahman that satisfies his spiritual cravings and to make it the object of his worship. It is notable that both doctrines are consistent with Hinduism's assertion that the unchanging reality is present in everything, even the transient (source and to read more, click here)
.
Until about 19th century, the term Hindu implied a culture and ethnicity and not a religion. When the British government started periodic census and established a legal system, need arose to define Hinduism as a clearly-defined religion, along the lines of Christianity or Islam. Some scholars like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, defined it as a religion based on the Vedas, using the analogy of Bible being the basis of Christianity and Koran being the Muslim scripture.

That even an atheist may be called a good Hindu is an example of the fact that Hinduism is far beyond a simple religious system, but actually an extremely diverse and complicated river of evolving philosophies and ancient traditions.

Mahaguru58, google up the word Hinduism and you will get 7.44 million references which talks about Hinduism. Read it about before you start making irresponsible comments.

Now, what if Hari Raya coincides with Christmas or Hari Wesak (don’t say it is not possible), is the blogger going to criticize on the image of Jesus Christ or Buddha and how Christianity or Buddhism is practiced in Malaysia? Commenting on other person’s religion beliefs and practices is a sensitive issue in Malaysia but then again, I forgot that this Mahaguru58 does not even believe in the word called “muhibbah” (because the blogger said “I will never accept what the bozos who came up with the idea in the first place say that it is all in the spirit of 'muhibbah'!”)

Mahaguru58, you don’t have the locus-standi to be commenting on other people’s religion and you are an insult to the Islam way of tolerance especially during the Ramadan. To use back your parting statement – May Allah punish the bloody nincompoops responsible for blatant disrespect for others.
